"My full name is Frederick Enyo Kwesi Akorli. I was born on September 8, 1968 and I grew up in the Volta region. As I remember, I started drawing at the tender age of five years. At the time, I could reproduce anything though not to perfection; I pursued my artistic inclinations throughout my school years.
"I studied art at the university in the Ashanti region of Ghana, where I obtained a Diploma Certificate in Rural Art and Industry. Upon graduating, I joined a non-governmental organization where I was the field co-coordinator in charge of helping artists develop their products, from their conception and quality, to selling.
"I learned a lot through my work, which encouraged me to open my own workshop. Yhis way I could develop fully my own artistic talents. I am now able to craft a variety of items, all of good quality. I exhibit my work at local fairs and have also participated in international exhibitions, including New York and Berlin.
"At my age, I think I still have many talents I have yet to pursue. I'd like to be able to translate them into physical objects so people around the world can decorate their homes with them."
