"My name is Dhipat Premjitre, and you can call me 'Nu,' my nickname. I was born in 1972 in a province in Thailand's northeast. I have one younger brother, Kochapoom Premjitre; he is a Novica featured artist. He suggested I contact Novica, certain they could help me to promote my art. Our parents are teachers, but unfortunately, my father passed away a few years ago. I will never forget that day - my father was attending an education seminar at a big hotel in my town. The base couldn't take the weight of the building and the hotel came crumbling down. Yes, my father's death was caused by the careless mind of greedy man who just wanted more money.
"When I finished high school, I studied Engineering, but I didn't like it so I dropped out to study Advertising and Media Arts at the university near my home. When I graduated I began to work for a shipping company, and through them, I began to realize my town's rich artistic heritage. I changed jobs, but I still had something to do with handicrafts until I got laid off, along with other 2000 people, due to the country's economic crisis. Therefore, I took a beautician's course and after six months of studying I was able to open my own salon.
"Its been a fun time doing what I do, but still I wanted to do more. I come from a place famous for its ceramic and pottery heritage, so I began to learn from local ceramists. I wanted to learn everything, from the basics of preparing the clay, to the sculpting of the piece. I enjoy designing my own pieces the most.
"I used to dream about a career in advertising as a creative writer. Now I realized I didn't accomplish this because I lacked focus; without a real goal, my life just passed in front of me day by day. I searched for something that truly expressed my creative side and feelings, and I found that in ceramic art I could carve my own niche. When my brother recommended Novica, I realized they could help me take care of many areas regarding the promotion of my work. In that sense, thanks to Novica I can stay focused in doing what I like. They can help me weave my dreams. Thanks for all."
