Lifting his trunk to trumpet with joy, an elephant boasts regal silken trappings. Thatsanee and Ramphan sculpt the elegant, stylized figure in clay, detailing the floral ornament in low relief. Using the celadon technique, they color the smooth jade contours with a delightfully crackled glaze. The elephant is a symbol of Thailand.
