Denisse Romero

"Hi, my name is Denisse Romero and I was born and raised in Lima. I started working with ceramics as a hobby, to spend time with my friends. Soon I realized that I indeed have some talent for this craft, and that my fascination with ceramics was constantly growing.

"I started researching all the different types of materials and procedures, until eventually I set up my own workshop at home. My hobby became my vocation. I began by crafting different ceramic pieces for special events and birthday presents. It wasn't until 2003 that I began to sell my pieces.

"I try to transmit all my ideas through the pieces I craft, that's why I work on piece as if it is a unique work of art. This type of work gives an enormous sense of personal satisfaction, but my greatest challenge remains bringing up my children and see them develop into individual beings."
